Is it necessary to have Adobe Acrobat on my PC and if, which version?
Since version 6.1 one must not have an Acrobat full version on the the pc on which KIM runs. KIM has its own PDF engine to produce previews and the high resolution PDF printing sheets. To have an Acrobat Reader on it is absolutely good enough.
Any previous version need to have an Acrobat full version product, preferably version 6 or higher.

In which worklows KIM-PDF can be integrated?
KIM PDF and KIM PDF Auto are designed as so called "Stand alone Applications". That means you can use KIM PDF in all workflows that use the PDF format for production.

What is the difference between the KIM-PDF Standard version and the Auto Server?
The Auto Server version is the fully automated version of KIM. The Auto Server handles templates that will be imposed automatically when the content files are available (PDF pages). So the Auto-Server assigns incomming PDF pages to the corresponding template. E.g. after the pages of the first side of a sheet are available the Auto-Server would impose this side automatically and would send the side of the sheet to the predefined destination.

Which data formats will be supported by KIM PDF?
Basically KIM PDF works with PDF files. EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) or PostScript files will be converted by the Adobe Acrobat Distiller to PDF by using predefined joboption settings. It is possible to handle this process by KIM.
